Yesterday, Jan. 5th, I hitchhiked with Natalie and Kern when we were on our trek back from a roadside exploration. A gentleman by the name of Jim pulled up alongside us in his white truck on a side road that we decided to walk down and offered us a ride. Although initially hesitant we accepted the ride. Jim happens to be from the US, residing in Colorado for most of the year but travels to Bonaire for extended periods of time about twice a year. He is a scuba diver and has had a house here for several years. After fall up in Colorado, the transition into winter or decent skiing whether as Jim put it, he and his wife come down to Bonaire to enjoy the whether for awhile. He also gave us a few hints as to where a few good places to snorkel would be along our stretch of road including a few unmarked sites. When we arrived at Roomer Hotel we found out that Jim often stops in to use the internet, so we very well may be seeing a bit more of him during our stay here!
